Reader Friday-WordNerds Unite!

Good morning, and welcome to all my WordNerdy friends and family!

Quick question to get the fun ball rolling:

Can you add to this list?

(Credit for this meme goes to Chip MacGregor–saw it on his FB page, and almost snorted coffee!)

I did an internet search on “WordNerd”, and boy howdy, did I get some fun stuff to read.

Your turn…and, go!

    • Hi Patricia!

      That’s a tongue twister!

Living in the PNW, we have lots and lots of towns with American Indian names: Washtucna, Washougal, Yakima, Mattawa, Chewela, Hoquiam, just to name a few.

Have a great day, my friend.

      • Seems the southern US is in some form of competition way down yonder on the Chattahoochee…Lotsa “EE” endings… and some just plain indecipherable… like an alphabet book exploded all over a map…
        ▪️Ocmulgee (Awk-mulgee)
        ▪️Tallapoosa (Tahlah-poosa – not TALL-apoosa))
        ▪️Arbacoochee
        ▪️Wedowee (Wah-dow-ee not WE-do-wee)
        ▪️Wetumpka (Wee-tumpka)
▪️Waugh (Waw – not Waff [like laugh])
        ▪️Letohatchee (Leto-hatchee)
        ▪️Waxahachie
        ▪️Kissimmee (K’-simmee – not Kissa-me)

        • Hey, George…ya got me beat!

          That’s a dandy list.

          My fave? Waxahachie…

My eldest (don’t tell her I said that) daughter lives in Mississippi…lots of variety there.

          Have a Kissimmee day!

          🤡
