Reader Friday-Caption This!

Don’t you just love playing with words and ideas? I do! As authors, one skill we work hard to develop is using words that evoke pictures in the readers’ minds. This morning, let’s flip that around a bit, and use a picture to evoke words. Photographers and painters are masters at that, right?

There’s a game going around social media called Caption This! I thought it’d be fun for us to compete this morning, and come up with some original captions for this picture.

Caption This!

Go ahead. Stare at it for awhile and let your creative juices flow. What is this image saying to you?

    • Hi Michael!

I think I’ve heard that when human folks are dieting…like a nice slice of pumpkin pie qualifying as a veggie. ๐Ÿ™‚ I guess giraffes can get in on the fun, too.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

    • Yeah, Debbie, I see that kiddo right off the camera. Looks a lot like my son at about 4 years old when we took him to the San Diego zoo many years ago.

Thanks for captioning this morning with us!

    • Haha, Dan!

With that tongue, Mr. Giraffe could kith 4 or 5 folks at the same time…

Have a great Friday, and remember to stand back. ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. FYI to all TKZers today:

We’re starting dog training classes for Kimber this morning, so I’ll be AWOL for a couple of hours. (And for the next 5 Fridays also.) I’ll catch up with your creative captioning when we get back. Keep it going…

…and I’m not really sure who the students are, us or Kimber! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Good day, CR…

I think you’re on to something with this caption. I can kinda remember mine, and was nothing to write home about for sure–ha!

Thanks for joining in the fun this fine Friday!

  2. I wouldn’t call this a caption and some may see this as oversharing, but I have a vivid memory of visiting the giraffe enclosure with my grandkids at the Norfolk, VA, zoo. You’re up on top so the giraffes are very close. My grandkids were enthralled and grossed out at the same time when one giraffe proceeded to drink his buddy’s urine fresh from “the tap” so to speak. That long tongue came in handy . . . .

    • Good Friday afternoon, Elaine.

Maybe Slurpee would consider changing its marketing photo…๐Ÿฅด

Thanks for your contribution to our captioning funsies!
