What is your writing Kryptonite? Have you learned a trick to overcome it or are you still dealing with your Achilles Heel?

Nitpicking at the final draft. If it weren’t for deadlines, I could nitpick forever. No known cure yet, sadly.
Hey Sue. Your comment reminded me of that saying (paraphrased), “a book is never finished, it’s only abandoned.”
But I’ve read your books. Whatever you’re doing, it’s working.
In school, the wisdom was that there are two kinds of thesis projects – perfect and finished.
And, yes, I still nitpick at the book I pubbed over two years ago.

Wow, Kathryn. I hope you find your way back. Sending you good thoughts. I’ve never thought of writer’s block as real, but maybe there’s a bigger picture of stress that inhibits being creative. Perhaps writing is what can come once you have a better balance in your core life needs.
I’ve only recently returned to writing after 2 years of personal hell. Getting back to writing has been good medicine for me. I hope you find whatever works for you.
Self-doubt about 40k in. I always spend an unproductive week wondering what I was thinking.
