“My religion would be a gentle faith that believed in the sacredness of leisure. Napping as a form of prayer.” — Garrison Keillor
What do you like to do in your leisure time?
“In both life and football, failure is inevitable. You dont always win. You can, however, learn from that failure, pick yourself up with great enthusiasm, and place yourself in the arena again. And that’s right where you will find me. Because I know I still have more to prove.” — Tom Brady
Applies to writers, too?
Barnes & Noble stores continue to close, while independent bookstores appear to be making a comeback.
What’s the bookstore situation where you live?
“When I was eight years old, I wrote short stories on tablet paper, drew colorful covers, stapled the left margin of each story, put electrician’s tape over the staples for the sake of neatness, and tried to peddle these books to relatives and neighbors. Each of my productions sold for a nickel.” — Dean Koontz
What’s the very first story you remember writing? How old were you? What inspired it?
As many of you know, I live in northern New Hampshire, where trees burst with color in the fall. It’s impossible to be down, upset, or melancholy when you’re surrounded by such beauty.
I’ve lived in New England my entire life, and the foliage never gets old. Nature is magnificent, is it not? And oh, so, inspiring. For this reason (plus I’m a Libra 😉 ), fall is my favorite time of year.
