On the road

On my way back and still not really online until I touch down back in Oz. I had forgotten just how long it took to travel from Melbourne to New York so I am steeling myself for the three flights needed to get home. It took us about a day and a half of travel to get here! Good news was that my agent was really optimistic and upbeat about the way the publishing industry is headed and my speech at our friend’s wedding anniversary went well.
Will update you all more next week.
Now back to packing and preparing myself for the horror that is flying these days!

  1. Feeling for you… I hate long flights.

While it’s nothing like flying to or from down under all US & most Canadian flights from Alaska start with a minimum 6 hours to where ever one is headed and usually end up being 12+ with layovers unless you want to pay out the nose.

Now that I think of it I might hate flying in general actually. Well, maybe not flying actually, maybe just the taking off and landing part. And the part where I start to imagine if the mechanics had a hang over when they worked on the engines. Or if the fuselage mechanic had been jilted by the hot young stewardess on that flight and may have considered not tightening the bolts on the fuselage to get back at her and then I start imagining myself doing a HALO jump sans HALO equipment…ie mask, goggles, altimeter … chute.

    AIRBORNE!!!!!! OORAH!!!

Other than that I don’t mind flying I guess… as long as all the stewardesses are ugly.
