“It’s the whole getting started thing for me. I forget how to write a book. The first ten thousand words are like digging fossils from rocks.” – J. T. Ellison

I don’t have any trouble getting started, but those first few chapters end up being trashed. They’re revving the engines.
Stolen for reposting around the web. Great quote & meaningful this day for me.
Thanks
Amen!
For me, it’s not the first 10,000 words. It’s the middle.
I’m always anxious to start a new project. My problem is selecting which one. I have a lengthy list of plots. Choosing which journey I want to embark on generally takes me a couple of days. Once I’ve selected one (normally two that I weave into a single novel), I generally don’t have a problem applying fingers to the keyboard.
