Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving dinner without pie would be a True Crime.
So let’s take a pie poll. Which is the best: pumpkin, apple, pecan, sweet potato, mince, or something different?
Please vote for your favorite pie and feel free to include the recipe, too!
One of the many blessings I give thanks for is being part of the terrific Kill Zone community.
Wishing you and yours a day filled with love, fellowship, and good food.
Pumpkin! Hands down.
Fork lifted. Mouth open.
Happy Thanksgiving, Amanda!
Have you ever eaten Costco’s pumpkin pie? It’s the best.
My favorite is black walnut pie, followed by sweet potato. And then key lime, triple lemon, and blueberry custard. I used to be the one who brought the pies. 😊
Becky, you can bring pie to my house anytime! Have a wonderful holiday.
For me, German apple cake.
A tasty choice, Olivia. Have a second helping today!
Pumpkin is traditional for Thanksgiving but this year, we’re having apple since we had extra apples around.
Sharon, there’s never a wrong time for apple pie. Happy Thanksgiving!
Definitely apple… with a touch of cinnamon, a lattice crust, warm, with a slice of cheddar cheese…
Good morning, Debbie. And HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Favorite pie: Pecan
Recipe: Get out of the kitchen and let my wife work her magic.
Today, I’m thankful for many things, including this TKZ family, and people who will read what I write without telling me how crazy I am.
Happy Thanksgiving, one and all!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, Steve!
I give thanks for that special craziness that makes us writers.
Whatever who’s in charge of dessert brings.
Terry, I never met a dessert I didn’t like.
Wishing you and your family a delicious day of sweetness.
Happy Thanksgiving, Debbie & TKZers!
I love all of the above. Haven’t had minced since my childhood, but I can still taste the awesomeness. Favorites are pumpkin, apple (we’re having caramel apple pie a la mode today), and pecan.
Sue, you’re making my mouth water. Save me a piece, please.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
It wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without my Mom’s pecan pie. The turkey is in the oven and our feast is 4 hours away.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
MC, that turkey smells wonderful. Have a great Thanksgiving!
Pumpkin streusel is the best!
I’ll have to try that one, Brenda. Happy Thanksgiving!
Pumpkin pie has never been a favorite of mine, though I don’t mind it with a large dollop of whipped cream.
But give me good old Apple, warm, with a scoop of vanilla on top.
Jim, how about some of each? Have a great day with your family!
When our family was too small for 2 pies, I found a recipe for pumpkin apple pie that worked for everyone.
Warm pumpkin pie with whipped cream. Yum.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Always a good choice, Kay. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Frank!
Truly a classic, Kay! Happy Thanksgiving!
It’s a three way tie between pumpkin, pecan and sweet potato pie for me, Debbie. I haven’t had mince meat pie since I was a child. It was the speciality of a great grandmother of mine and was a recipe on my mom’s side. Since lost, sadly.
Have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving, Dale! Do an extra zumba workout and you can have all three.
That’s a great question, Debbie, one that I am uniquely qualified to answer, as a common sewer…I mean connoisseur…of fine food.
For holidays…pumpkin is tough to beat. For the rest of the year…the difficult though not impossible to find custard pie.
That said, I’ll paraphrase what Robert Mitchum said about beer: “Any pie at the bottom of the refrigerator in the morning is good pie.”
Happy Thanksgiving, Debbie, and Happy Thanksgiving to one and all who visit these pages and make them what they are.
LOL, Joe! Glad to have a true expert weigh in.
Custard pie is difficult to make–that’s probably why it’s hard to find. My attempts have been middling.
Have a wonderful turkey day!
Any pie with whip cream.
When made from scratch (rather than out of the can), I like to lick the beaters.
Happy Belated Thanksgiving to our friend from Canada!
#1-Cherry pie made from scratch, no canned cherry pie filling, please!
#2-Pecan.
Both with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream (whipped with my mixer, not the pretend stuff in the freezer case! 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Cherry pie from scratch sounds delish, Deb. Hope you and your family have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Pumpkin is the top pie. We had to get by with apple, this year; pumpkin was sold out.
Best wishes to all!
Hope you had a good day, J, even tho pumpkinless.
Pumpkin is the traditional choice, but I prefer Pecan. 🙂
Phil, don’t tell anyone but I had a slice of each.
